Application | used as an intermediate in organic synthesis, is the production of efficient photoinitiator PI-906, raw material of PI-907 |
production method | obtained by the reaction of isobutyric acid and thionyl chloride: under stirring, isobutyric acid is added dropwise to thionyl chloride, the immediate reaction releases hydrogen chloride and sulfur dioxide. After the dropwise addition was completed, stirring was continued, and the temperature was raised to 80 °c for 0.5h. A broad fraction was collected by distillation, and a 92-92 °c fraction was collected by distillation to obtain a final product. |
