Nature
White crystal. Sublimation by heating. It's not combustible. Soluble in methanol, formaldehyde, acetic acid, hot glycol, glycerin, pyridine, insoluble in ether, benzene, carbon tetrachloride. It decomposes at high temperatures to produce highly toxic cyanide gas.
Preparation
Melamine uses urea as raw material, ammonia as liquefied carrier gas, and silica gel as catalyst for gas-solid phase catalytic reaction. Semi-dry atmospheric pressure process is used to synthesize melamine at 380 ~ 400ºC, and the melamine is crystallized in the condensate, and the crude product is dissolved, filtered and crystallized into finished products, or the dichyandiamine is dissolved in methanol solvent. It is obtained by reaction with ammonia at 200ºC.
Use
Used as tanning agent and filler for leather processing. Widely used in plastics, wood, paper, textile, coating and other industries, is the manufacture of advanced coatings, laminates, molding powder, adhesives, textile and paper treatment agents, insulating materials of raw materials.
