Nature
Colorless, volatile, transparent liquid with a sweet odor. Soluble in acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ether, ethanol and other organic solvents. Slightly soluble in water, forming an azeotrope with water. The relative density is.8060. Freezing point -83 ~ -84 ºC. Boiling point 77.3ºC. Flash point -5ºC. Refractive index 1.3888. Viscosity (25ºC) 0.34mPa.s. Vapor pressure (20ºC)11, 07kPa. The vapor of this product can form an explosive mixture with air, and the explosion limit (25ºC) is 3.05% to (17.0 o. 5)% (volume). Pure products are easy to self-polymerize, especially in the absence of oxygen or exposure to visible light, easier to polymerize, and can be strongly polymerized in the presence of concentrated alkali.
Use
Acrylonitrile is an important raw material for organic synthesis. Mainly used in the manufacture of polyacrylonitrile fiber (acrylic fiber), nitrile rubber, ABS resin, AS resin, polyacrylamide, acrylic ester, adiponitrile, water resistant agent and adhesive. It is also used in other organic synthesis and pharmaceutical industries, and as a cereal fumigant. In addition, this product is also an aprotic polar solvent.
