Overview 2-methyltetrahydrofuran (2MeTHF) is an important bio-gasoline fuel, high-end environmental solvent and chemical intermediate. When used as bio-gasoline fuel, it can be miscible with gasoline in any proportion, and has excellent oxidation and vapor pressure properties. Structure and properties The solubility of 2-methyltetrahydrofuran in water decreases with increasing temperature, which is a rare property. Like tetrahydrofuran, 2-methyltetrahydrofuran can also be used as a Lewis base in organometallic reactions. The synthesis of 2-methyltetrahydrofuran usually results in racemes. 2-methylchemicalbook tetrahydrofuran (hereinafter referred to as 2-MeTHF) is an important organic synthesis intermediate and solvent, and belongs to the fine chemical materials in the field of new materials and applications. In organic synthesis, it is mainly used in the synthesis of chloroquine phosphate, primaquine phosphate and thiamine. In solvent application, it is mainly used for organic synthesis of resin, natural rubber, ethyl cellulose and chloroacetic acid-vinyl acetate copolymer. Chemical properties Colorless liquid. Has an ether-like odor. Soluble in water, the solubility in water increases with the decrease of temperature. Soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene and chloroform.
