Audited Supplier Polyacrylamide is referred to as PAM. Usually a polymer with a head-to-tail bonding structure of acrylamide monomer, it is a hard glassy solid at room temperature. Due to the different preparation methods, the products have white powder, translucent beads and flakes. Density 1.302g/cm3(23ºC), glass transition temperature 153ºC, softening temperature 210ºC. It has good thermal stability. Dissolved in water, the aqueous solution is clear and transparent, and its viscosity becomes obviously viscous with the increase of molecular weight of the polymer, and the relationship between logarithmic increase and decrease with the change of polymer concentration. In addition to acetic acid, acrylic acid, chloroacetic acid, ethylene glycol, glycerol and formamide and a few other solvents, generally insoluble in organic solvents Chemicalbook. It is prepared by free radical polymerization of acrylamide monomer, which can be used in solution polymerization, reversed phase emulsion polymerization, suspension polymerization and solid polymerization. The molecular weight of the product is controllable, the water is easily dissolved and the residual monomer is small. Polyacrylamide is one of the most widely used water-soluble polymers with a large number of side amide groups on the main molecular chain. The amide group has great chemical activity and can form a series of derivatives with a variety of compounds. Polyacrylamide has many functions such as flocculation, thickening, drag reduction, bonding, colloid stabilization, film formation and scale inhibition. It is widely used in papermaking, mining, coal washing, metallurgy, oil mining and other industrial sectors, and is an important chemical for water treatment.
