It is a white crystalline powder. No odor. Salty, slightly bitter. Relative density 2.75; Melting point 730; Boiling point 1435ºC. Soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol and ether. Slightly hygroscopic. It turns yellow when exposed to light. The aqueous solution is neutral.
