In the presence of catalyst and inhibitor, 2-monohydroxyethyl methacrylate was synthesized by addition reaction of methacrylic acid and ethylene oxide, and then degassed and fractionated.
Potassium methacrylate reacts with chloroethanol in the presence of an inhibitor to produce crude 2-hydroxy-ethyl methacrylate, which is salted out and refined.
use
This product is mainly used for resin and paint modification. Copolymerized with other acrylic monomers, the resulting resin may contain active hydroxyl groups. React with melamine formaldehyde (or urea-formaldehyde) resin, epoxy resin, etc., for the manufacture of two-component coatings. Add to the high-end car paint, can maintain the mirror luster for a long time. It can also be used as adhesive for synthetic textile and medical polymer monomer.
